Word Prompt- Argyle

Argyle, Florida and Argyle Forest are areas in the Florida panhandle.  I wonder how many people, beyond the residence, know these places exist. I certainly didn’t until I did a web search tonight looking for argyle. I was thinking of the print, the material. They popped up on the list.

The community was named after Argyle Scotland. It is part of the Paxton, Freeport area. of Walton County. Argyle Forest is near Jacksonville, the state capitol.

These obscure locations may serve well as backdrops for a story set in small town, rural Florida.

Word Prompt- Clear

Thoughts of a Conspirator – It was so clear it was transparent. Did he know this about his plans? He tried to be so discreet, so calm, and sly and yet he was so clear I saw right through him. It had nothing to do with the fact that he was physically invisible. No, it was his intent. How is anyone supposed to pull off the greatest feat in history, that no one is supposed to see coming until after it’s done- when one team member has a need to brag about the plans? Maybe he’d get away with it, being invisible but the rest of the team, not so lucky.

Journal Session 1

As my closet friends know, about 4 1/2 years ago I joined the world of second life. Today I joined a group in-world for journaling. We’re giving one word and a few minutes to write a brief thought on it then we share with the group. Today’s word prompts were Portal and Breath- These are my entries.

My Portal Dream –

It was a dream, right, just a dream? The other morning, in my sleeping dreams I teleported into my kitchen. Landing on the stove, I had sunk into it. Then I lay down as the oven door opened, my legs inside with the coils burning hot. I could only watch as they baked. My skin, muscles, and clean through the bone cooked and melted away. As I was consumed by the heat, I woke. It was just a dream, right?

One Single Breath

Just breathe, that’ the one line I remember from Ever After, Just Breathe. So simple, breath, something we don’t think about. And yet so powerful, mentally. When we do think, when we close our eyes and take that one deliberate breath, somehow it brings us back to center allowing us to focus. A breath, one single, slow, deliberate breath is all it takes.
